Brayton Presents: Into the Woods JR! Get your tickets now!

Brayton Elementary School and the Brayton School PTO present Into The Woods Jr, a new take on Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s groundbreaking musical fairytale about wishes and the choices we make.

Be careful what you wish for, as a cockeyed fairytale comes to life in this adaptation of Sondheim and Lapine's groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical. Into the Woods JR. features all of your favorite characters — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch — in this lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables.

The musical centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse, and wind up changed forever.

Featuring Brayton's 4th and 5th graders in both the cast and the crew!

General PTO Meeting Q&A with Scott Hough, Superintendent of Summit Public Schools

Please join us for our next PTO meeting on Friday, February 28th at 9am in the Brayton School Cafeteria, where Superintendent Scott Hough will be speaking with us and answering our questions. Mr. Hough will be joining us at 9am but please come by starting at 8:45am to grab a coffee and chat with other parents! A link for a zoom option will be sent prior to the event.

The Prom School Edition - This Weekend

Summit High School theatre department invites The Brayton community to come enjoy their spring musical The Prom!

This production showcases Brayton alumni and current Summit High School Theatre stars like Ella Macgill, Rebecca Kampel, Rory Gingeleskie and Wyatt Bergner!

A contemporary show based on true events, The Prom is a hilarious, heartwarming musical that celebrates individuality, acceptance, and the power of love. The story follows Emma, a high school student who incites controversy in her small Indiana town. Her story attracts both the attention of the media and of four eccentric out-of-work Broadway actors who decide to rally around Emma’s cause in the hopes of getting back into the spotlight. As they work to give Emma the prom she deserves, they ultimately learn valuable lessons about selflessness and empathy – and so does the entire community. Performances are Wednesday, February 26 at 6 pm, and Thursday, February 27 through Saturday, March 1 at 7pm. This lively musical is filled with big, exciting dance numbers, moving ballads and the uplifting, timely message that everyone deserves to be loved.
