Thank you all for a wonderful year! Together, we met our mission as a PTO of enriching the Brayton community. Helping to lead our PTO gave us an opportunity to meet so many new people and continue with our PTO traditions. We are proud of all we have done together along with the chairpeople and volunteers who made it a fantastic year at Brayton! The fundraising efforts afforded us more than we can list here - educational opportunities of all sorts were created and put into action. We end the year with a surprise that your kids will love - some new playground equipment will be installed on our Junior playground. We expect some additional spinners to be added in from our PTO funds very soon.
The two of us step off the Board along with the Treasurer, Kate Henk, who made smart financial decisions and was dedicated and involved in every single committee and event in her two-year term. She was an incredible volunteer who Brayton is really lucky to have! Stefanie Major also served as our wonderful teacher liaison and is ending her term as a member of our Board but continues at Brayton. There will be a seamless transition as we add three new members as the rest continue on to carry the school through the 2024-2025 year.
We welcome all levels of engagement and encourage people to come forward and volunteer to take a leadership role on a committee or grab a friend and fill our Executive VP role(s) and serve on the PTO Board for the next school year. With a complete Executive PTO Board, all the fun and enriching things offered can be put into place.
Last but not least, congratulations to the Fifth graders as they move up to Middle School and to the parents who graduate along with them. We will miss those great volunteers and wish you all the best.

24-25 PTO Executive Vice Presidents - We Need You!
Are you looking to get more involved at Brayton? Want to help bring amazing programming and events to our school? The PTO runs on volunteers to make all our programming happen and we can't do it without you! We are looking for 2 candidates to serve on our PTO Executive Board as Executive Vice Presidents. This role is a two year commitment: Year 1 Executive Vice President and Year 2 PTO President. Please email braytonptopresident@gmail.com for more information about this position.
After School Enrichment Chairs Needed for 2024-2025 School Year
Do you love that the PTO offers enrichment classes after school during our winter programming? We sure do! These popular activities like Lego Robotics and Acting will only be available if we have 2-3 leaders to co-chair our program. Other than the on-site help, the tasks can be done when it fits into your schedule. It can be broken into the following roles:
Booking the programming over the summer or in early fall
Handle registration in November and maintain communication with participants throughout the session
On site: welcome the vendors, organize parent volunteers and dismiss the kids during ASE days (after school Tuesdays and Wednesdays during January-February)
The PTO is sponsoring two assemblies tomorrow by SK8 4 LIFE. Through an interactive and exciting skateboard presentation, they’ll learn the benefits of developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
LAST WEEK!! Recycle your stretched plastics at Brayton - help us get a bench!
100 pounds to go to meet our goal!
Thank you to all of you who have been bringing in stretched plastics to Brayton! We have collected over 400 pounds which gets us close to our 500 pound goal. Before the last day of school, please bring in your final bags of stretched plastics so we can hopefully achieve our goal before the end of the year. We estimate only 15 more garbage bags full so clear out your house and start the summer clean.
After the last day of school, you can still recycle stretched plastics over the Summer that will be counted towards the Trex bench for Brayton, but the steps will be the following:
1. Weigh your stretched plastics at home
2. Bring stretched plastics to the Transfer Station and recycle it in the appropriate place
**Please do not leave your donations outside! All plastic donations must be dropped off in the main office. Thank You!**
Brayton's Fourth Grade Girl Scout Troop 42856 would like to help our community responsibly recycle stretched plastics.
If our community can collect more than 500 pounds of plastic refuse (about 40,500 plastic bags), Trex® will donate a high-performance composite bench to Brayton Elementary.
Instead of throwing away your stretched plastics, have your child bring the plastics to Brayton's lobby and place them in the labeled box. The Girl Scout troop will responsibly recycle it. See below for what can be recycled. Questions? Email at troop42856@gmail.com
