A Committee of families dedicated to welcoming New First Grade Families, New Brayton Families and any New Families throughout the year. Each new family is assigned an existing Brayton family to serve as their Brayton Buddies. The Brayton Buddies will educate and provide information and also encourage new families to participate early on with Brayton activities.
Chairperson’s responsibilities:
- Obtain list of new First Grade families and new Brayton families
- Create committee of current Brayton PTO members willing to pair with new families, to be a contact person as needed
- Responsible for welcoming all new students and families to Brayton prior to school year and throughout the school year
- Will assign “Host Family” to each New First Grade Family as well as New Families throughout the year immediately upon receiving contact information from principal or school secretary
- Organize a welcoming coffee at the end of September
Committee responsibilities:
- Assist chair in organizing a welcoming coffee at end of September
- Educate new families about Brayton and answer any questions
